There is no right or wrong answer to this question...different women want different things. There are women who want a career and power and don't care about getting married or having kids, and there are women who are housewives and stay home and raise babies. It's all up to the individual, which is why men have such a hard time with this question. Instead of asking what their girlfriend/wife wants as an individual, they try to apply a generalization to her and that doesn't work. Women are not as complicated as men think we are.
