Best way to kill the excess elk in the Rocky Mountain State Park?

Should they allow sharpshooters/private contractors or wolves to kill them or not kill them at all and just relocate them?

They should allow local landowners whose crops or natural forage for their own domestic animals that are being destroyed to take the elk. they should also issue more licenses or allow locals to take more than one animal for the season. charge less for out of state hunters, and let local gun clubs that are teaching young hunters a special weekend to hunt and then donate their
kills to the food banks and shelters for the homeless. Everybody wins.

We have excess moose. To keep the numbers down, a set and limited amount of permits are sold each year during hunting season that allow only a set number of moose to be killed by hunters. This is the most cost effective way to contol herd populations. For a few weeks each November (near the end of the rut when most females are already impregnated), sell a limited number of permits to hunt the bull elk only. Your state will make money and keep elk poplations under control.

I think hunters of ANY kind with guns/sights are chicken-sh-t people. You want sport? Go after a Grizzly Bear with a bow and arrow, and survive. Then I'll give you the title of 'Hunter'...

Centuries ago, some decided that the buffaloes were not needed, now some others decide that elk number is in "excess"!

to kill them is NOT the answer.
you are asking the wrong question.
if they need population control they should try sterilization and release or feeding them birth control (quite easy to do).
no living thing should be regarded as excess...
today it is the elk
tomorrow it could be you...
who created that living thing? what caused it to be here? who feels they have the infinite knowledge and right to decide?
population control means to stop them from reproducing, not to randomly kill.
