cuz in high impacts you'd bounce back 100 yds. and take out the cars behind you. Or worse bounce at an angle and end up in some third story office building, crashing thru the window, landing on the conference table, disrupting the board of directors meeting, which just happened to be about rubber bumper safety. Coincidence? I think not!

Because that won't change anything, all that would happen is the car would slow down a bit more gradually and then bounce back possibly hitting more things. Instead, there's crumple zones where the A-Pillar and sides crunch up but it keeps the driver and passengers safe. What we need to put into cars is four point seat belts...
