The sky appears blue 'cos when sun light enters the earth's atmosphere it is refracted (bent as it enters) and different colors diffract at an different angle. so sun light which is white is split in to its seven component colors, from red which is refracted the least to Violet which is refracted(bent) the most. so so all the colors closer to red side travel a straight path and the colors near the blue side bend and remain in the upper atmosphere also blue color is defracted Scattered more but atmosphere......So the sky appears blue...

But when its cloudy there are ice crystals which block not even blue but also other colors so it appears dark.....

For the same reason the space is black

see the link below it has pictures which explain it better....

Take care
bye

the sky is blue because the light from the sun reflects back the color of outer space.

its all upon RAYLEIGHS law of scattering.the minute moisture droplets in the atmosphere act like miniature prisms.Since blue light wavelenght has the highest scattering ability in the whole of light spectrum,,it is the most prominent to the human eye!if you looked at it from above,in outer space, you will not see this effect.

Maybe it's the reflection coming from the beautiful blue water in the ocean...

I don't know, it's just how God made it.

It's just the way god made things.
Look at it this way, of the sky way pink when it's not cloudy.
You'd be wondering why it wasnt some other color.
It's simply the way god made things.
