I am sure it is impossible to play a highly graphical game on a slow connection. I belive one of the system reqirements is that you have a broadband connection such as DSL or Cable

I wouldn't because you'll experience alot of lag and it will also cuz the other people playing to lag. Alot of times, people who are hosting the room get aggrivated when people have poor internet connections, and kick them out of the room. I'd take your PS2 to a friends house who has broadband.

Not really. Wait til Sony comes out with their new networking setups, lag time will still suck. By the way dial up sucks even with XBOX live.
