Free will - you only think you have it

Underneath the uncertainty of quantum mechanics could lie a deeper reality in which, shockingly, all our actions are predetermined
"WE MUST believe in free will, we have no choice," the novelist Isaac Bashevis Singer once said. He might as well have said, "We must believe in quantum mechanics, we have no choice," if two new studies are anything to go by.
Early last month, a Nobel laureate physicist finished polishing up his theory that a deeper, deterministic reality underlies the apparent uncertainty of quantum mechanics. A week after he announced it, two eminent mathematicians showed that the theory has profound implications beyond physics: abandoning the uncertainty of quantum physics means we must give up the cherished notion that we have free will. The mathematicians believe the physicist is wrong.
"It's striking that we have one of the greatest scientists of our generation pitted against two of the world's greatest mathematicians," says Hans Halvorson, a philosopher of physics at Princeton University.
Quantum mechanics is widely accepted by physicists, but is ...

It is difficult because your destiny depended on it. Your life today is the result of the choices you have made in the past. If you trust in God though, there is nothing impossible under the heat of the sun, so to speak. Keep on praying and everything will be easy when it comes to making choices. Something you will not regret whatever lies ahead.

Most people have not studied Decision theory or like me have studied but rarely practised it.
I do believe that if you set goals and objectives and set priorities for your goals, and develop a methodology for decision making that you can make decision more easily;
There is still elements of risk due to uncertainty. An aversion to risk can inhibit a decision.
People tend to value results and not methods, and therefore if the decide resulted in a good (bad) result, then the decisions leading up to the results must have been good (bad) decisions. A perceived notion of "no good deed goes unpunished" can result in difficulty in deciding to do the right thing the next time around.
Finality (or perceived finality) of a decision also can inhibit decision making.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS...YOU MAKE LEMONADE! SOME PEOPLE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH IN LIFE BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR THAT INDIVIDUAL TO CHOOSE THAT PATH. YOU ARE GIVEN CHOICES IN LIFE AND IT IS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH IT. YOU MAY FIND MANY THINGS IN LIFE THAT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN,FOR EXAMPLE YOU MAY HAVE 2 BEST FRIENDS.... WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE FOR YOUR MAID OF HONOR OR BEST MAN WHEN YOU LOVE THEM BOTH EQUALLY...A CHOICE HAS TO BE MADE THOUGH. LIFE IS HARD AND YOU NEED TO DECIDE YOUR PATH IN LIFE SO YOU DONT HAVE TO MAKE DIFFICULT DECISIONS IN LIFE THAT MAY HURT YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE. SO THINK THINGS THROUGH.

Often, the bottom line is, it is because you are a perfectionist and make too much of every decision. Read "how to get unstuck." I forgot the author. It's a great book, helped me a lot. I was terrible at making any choices.

that's one of the great things about being a person, that we have this gift of choice! Is difficult because we never know what the outcome will be, but whatever will be, will BE!

Because with every choice you limit the number of options you have and you are afraid that one of the discarded options is better then the any of the remaining ones.
