I would definitely do it. You only live once and only have the time to move about freely for such a sort time without the strings of your own personal family (i.e. spouse and children). I graduated from college almost three years ago and I moved up north away from my family in Maryland. Granted I am only a state away, I have never regreted my move. And if you really don't like it when you get there, there is nothing saying that you can't move back.

Could it be that your family is worried about hurricanes that are known to hit Florida? Does it have to be SW Florida? How about someplace farther inland such as the Orlando area? A lot of job opportunities in this area. Also if you have teens there are a lot of jobs at the many amusement parks in the area. Do some research of the area and show your family. Ask them if you were to move to Florida where would they like to live? Can you go on a vacation there to look it over with your family? Don't leave your family behind. Moving is hard, especially on kids who don't like to leave their friends. Have a family discussion and include everyone in your family. Tell them you want to know why they don't want to move. This is a time to be a really good listener.

I would do but also look at the job market of where you want to move to so you know what jobs are available and even apply if you want. I would go for it though, I have been wanting to move away (to FL too actually) and I haven't made it and got stuck with work and bills and other parts of life and I regret it. I say go and have a great time but keep in touch with your family because I'm sure they love you and only want what's best for you but you've got to be your own person.

You should do it. If you don't, you could regret it later on. When I graduated from college in Milwaukee, WI, I moved 5 days later to Phx, AZ. I have now lived here 4 years. You can always move back if you don't like it, but you have to give it a few months to find a decent job. I had to start out working at the mall just so I could get $. But that job then got me into my current career of pharm. sales. Its hard to get a job right out of college, but keep your head up and don't give up if you get turned down for a job or two.

Go for it man! I moved from NY to San Antonio TX and I don't regret a second of it. Honestly you may not like florida or you may love it. Your family is always gonna be your family no matter where you live. If you don't like Florida you can always move back. So give it a shot.

Go for it. You will never know unless you try. I am 44 years old, and regret a lot of things that I DIDN"T do. Now my life is half over and I have a lot of things to do to make up for lost time!

If things don't work out, you can start over. That is what make America great.

Remember, you have to make your OWN happiness.

You only have one life to live. You graduated from college. Now it is time for you to venture out and have new and wonderful experiences of your own. If you decide not to go, how will you ever know what experiences you might have had. Go for it!!!!!!!!!

i know you love your family, but you're a young adult and you don't need to stick close to mommy and daddy anymore. I know you love your family and probably want to be close to them but its your life now. Do what you want and if you don't then you'll never be completely happy and you won't ever enjoy life to its fullest! So go for it!
PS- my mom and I wanna move to FL too, but my grandmother is the only thing keeping us here.
grrr.
lol.

Follow your heart, but just make sure you have a plan first. Scope out job opportunities and living arrangements before you go. Good Luck and let us know how you make out!
