if by greatest you mean largest then i would say the ongoing war in iraq or whatever war is on at the moment. But usually the greatest news is to do with death and violence somehow or other. I wish that they could do a happy news sometime...

the best news is good news, but most news channels show all the stuff that is wrong with the world (war etc) and then they go and leave the good news to last (actually, dont they do weather and sports last?) or they just dont mention any good news at all, i think they're trying to make us all depressed...
