I think it would be important to get into the psychology of perception. Like - people perceive you to be exactly how you present yourself. So, if being successful is important to you, you need to act and look successful. People will unfortunately judge you on how you look, and if you dress like you are successful, people will think you are.
Also, adhering to dress code shows that you are respectful and reliable, particularly in a job or career.
I don't have any sourcing, but it's just an opinion and something to think about as you consider the main topics you want to touch on.

That is the very first impression that people will get when you are introduced. This sounds like a fun project. Here is a suggestion have pictures of two people one dressed for success and one that is not. Ask the question solely based on appearance which one would you hire and why. The only thing is the one not dressed appropriately is better qualified for the position. I did something similar to this in a class I was teaching and the have nots were treated unfairly so another teacher and I put on a little skit.... It was very successful.

First of all have you considered what you are wearing? People perceive you upon first glance and usually determine your socio-economic status immediately. The way to dress for success is to dress for the job you want not the one you have.

...because what you wear is who you are....or who and what you want to be or represent. Hair is important also. ...because you don't want your outer-appearance to distract from what you want to achieve or what you want to convey... by dressing and looking the part, people get what you try to convey quicker, instead of them asking you to say it again or not getting your point altogether, because they were thinking about your terrible outfit or hair. Dress the part for your presentation to experience this phenomenon first hand. In fact do it both ways...like first dress terribly...excuse yourself and come back dressed more professionally...and then continue your presentation. That should cover ten minutes.
