Kingdom hearts for one. I know it looks really cheesy, but the gameplay is just amazing. I'm fairly sure that Final Fantasy worked on the fighting.
Starcraft is another classic. You can spend hours online downloading UMS games for enjoyment with your siblings or other players over the internet. Plus, once you pay for the game, internet access is free.
The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker is pretty good too, although the music is what really makes it shine^^.

PS2 - Final Fantasy X (old I know, but still my favorite)
Nintendo Gameboy - legend of zelda/harvest moon fomt

Overall: Tales of Symphonia. Such a sweet storyline and awesome fighting style
