If you are for the legalization of gay marriage do you also feel that polygamy, child porn, and other disturbing choices of sexual expression should be legal? If so whats the difference. To me they are all choices that are wrong and should not be legal.

Being gay and women's and racial rights have nothing in common. One is a Choice, the other two are obviously not.

Child porn is definitely extreme no matter what. But what about polygamy, noone is hurt by that. I don't see why the liberals aren't fighting for that too.

you are right, but that is when group of people come forward and support multiple marriage , you have made a seriosue point that may affect democracy in the future , since i believe democracy is demonstration of crazy, we only need someone to talk and once other support it become legalize, even is bad , majority cary the vote, after signing it, you know of several laws sign that are bad to the intrest of the nation, untill it start showing effect then other can go against it

The issue of polygamy is a valid point, but child porn is not. A child is too young to give legal, informed consent, therefore, is illegal.
A better comparison would be "fake" child porn, where you have an 18 year old (maybe with a hormone problem that makes them look prepubescent) or use computers to make it look like children in sexual behavior. Then you have the question of whether that should be legal (currently is in most states) because no children were actually involved.
Should all choices deemed "wrong" be illegal? If not all, who decides which ones to illegalize. And who decides what's wrong (outside of the 'consenting adults' argument.)
Where to draw the line is a very difficult question.
The liberals fight for gay marriage but not for polygamy because it is mostly the Mormons in Utah that practice polygamy, & the liberals wouldn't want to fight for anything remotely Christian. And these type of polygamists are most always sexist, viewing woman as not much more than property. And liberals are only in favor of freedom of expression when the expressions are consistant with their mindset.
I despice polygamy, but have a hard time thinking of why it should be illegal, as long as eeveryone is informed & gives consent ahead of time.

Marriage is a basic human right and I do not like discriminating against other people just because they aren't like me. The difference between homosexuality and child porn and polygamy is that homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone. Your life and the lives of others will not be made worse just because two people who love each other want to make a formal commitment. There are so many bigger issues going on in the world today that I don't understand why giving equal rights to other human beings is such a big problem.
P.S. Being gay is not a choice. I don't think that many people would choose to live a life of persecution and being treated as an inferior citizen by an apparently large portion of the population.

That is the thing gay is wrong to YOU. Many people out there don't feel it is right. There was a time were people of different races were considered outlawed because people felt colors shouldn't mix and it was disgusting. Well they get married freely now and now it is no big deal.
Not letting them get married isn't going to make it go away. Why is everyone so worried about what people do in their own households.
I don't think child pornography should be legal. I am not sure what you mean by other disturbing choices of sexual expression is so I am not going to comment.
Polygamy I am not sure of. I think it is a sexist display towards women. Men can marry however many women they want but women have to stay true. But I know there are people that enjoy open relationships and marriages. It is not for me but whatever.

The idea is that a gay marriage is no different from a heterosexual marriage. Do you associate heterosexual marriages to child porn, polygamy or any other choices of sexual expression? No? Well, neither should gay marriage. A gay marriage does not advertise their sexual life any more than a heterosexual one does.
Did you know that according to the Census Bureau, 50% of U.S. marriages end in divorce? It's obviously time to throw the traditional marriage out the window and start thinking outside the box.

You need professional help! Run to the nearest Psychologist!! How can you even compare gay marriage (2 consenting adults who love each other) to child rape?? First off being gay isn't a choice!! Second it is not disturbing! As far as Polygamy to each his own...if people want to do it then why not! The only difference is Polygamy would be a choice unlike being gay!!

Ok first off, I am straight and in a loving realtionship. But I support gay marriage because marriage is about LOVE not about your gender! I believe that everyone has that one specail person out there, somewhere, that is ment for them. Who is to say if its the same or different gender as you?????? Gay marriage is a completely different subject them that of child porn and polygamy!!! You cant put those three together in the same group what the heck is wrong with you?! Child porn is wrong in so many ways and so is polygamy, those things arent LOVE!!!!!!

as far as gay marriages go that is to consenting ADULTS
child porn is nothing like that since a child can not make informed decisions
and at one time polygamy WAS legal just ask the Mormons a very religious group

I see. I have an issue with child porn. For me it is a question of legal consent. Our youth are in jeopardy because of it. Gay marriage doesn't harm anyone,acknowledges commitment, and takes place between consenting adults out of love as does polygamy. I must point out also these things are happening anyway. Has the unwillingness to give teenagers condoms or talk to them about sex prevented them from having sex or getting pregnant?? How about prostitution? Drugs? Knowledge,acceptance ,and regulation frees us all. Peace.

wow you are pretty conservative, eh? i am straight but believe gay individuals should be allowed to get married. i don't even know how you can compare two individuals in love who want to legalize their union with child porn, polygamy, etc. there is NO comparison in my mind. maybe try to open your mind a little?
