the state isn't Washington - you live in the District of Columbia

Washington DC is a City and a Federal District. It is not a State. It is 3000 miles from the State of Washington. Look at a map of the USA.

Washington D.C. is not in Washington State.

Put Washington for the City, and DC as the State.

I just tried it at http://www.usps.gov and it works.

Washington State is on the West Coast. Washington DC is on the Eastern Seaboard, right by the State of Virginia, actually within the State of Maryland.
