so im in 8th grade, about to be in 9th, and the last time i was on a swim team was when i was like 8, and teh only way that helped was i knew the strokes, not like technique or skill or speed(i wouldnt have rembered anyway) but i joined the swim team for my school, and our season is short, about a month and a 1/2. So i was new, and my 25yrd fly time was like 18s or somthing, is that good for just starting? im on a swimming leage now i think im getting better

Swimming is great because you work toward personal improvement while participating on a team. Keep swimming and keep practicing, and your strokes will improve, leading to better times. I didn't start swimming competitively until 10th grade, and I was able to improve a lot over 3 years. Plus, it was a lot of fun and great exercise, and it looked good on college applications.

18 is ok....

but the thing is, nobody goes around swimming 25's......
and you're bound to go slower the second 25 meaning your time would be a 36
your 50 fly time should be around 30..... and that's not even great

however, highschools dont normally swim 50 fly either lol. so your 100 time would be around 1 minute 12 seconds. thats not all that great considering your breaststroke time should be faster than that.

but if this is youre first time swimming in a long time, you are in fact doing really well, soon you should be cutting down your times to what i said before.

yeah that's good!! swimming is the kind of sport that you need to practice frequently. not only is swimming awesome for your body ( it uses muscles that other excercies dont work out) but the more you practice, the easier it is. everyday will be easier, and the water won't feel like jello. and time goes off the clock with more practice. stick with it! its also a great way to meet new people ...
