No -- I flew over 260,000 miles last year (I do a lot of international travel for business). Everything from 747's to tiny two-engine regional prop planesin China. Lots of turbulence, delays, weather problems...one time from LA-Tokyo we even had to turn around and go to Anchorage, Alaska 'cause a guy on the plane had a heart attack. Took a total of 16 hours (instead of 11) for me to get to Tokyo! And I do that much just about every year.

In all that time, I've never once felt unsafe. Now driving on the LA freeways -- THAT's dangerous! :) Don't worry, just fly and enjoy it.

I HATE flying! It makes me a nervous wreck. I've flown lots of time and the worse thing that ever happened was yucky food. There's been a couple of time flying over the mountains that there was a lot of turbulence which can be scary.

My husband is afraid to fly. He had a heart attack on the plane the last time he flew. He wouldn't tell anyone he was sick because he said the drink cart wouldn't make it past his big belly if he laid down in the aisle! LOL

I've seen lightening hit the wing of the plane while flying through a storm. It craked like a gun shot.

I've flown many times and never experienced anything bad, except cancelled flights! When it is your time, it's your time...it doesn't matter if you are on a plane or in a car.
