I shall define "worst" as the most consequential. That would make it the 1964 loss to USC. The Irish were 9-0, playing in their final game, and seemed sure to win the National Championship. They led the underdog Trojans 17-0 at the half, but lost 20-17.

Probably blowing the Anthony Davis game against USC in the 70's. ND was leading 24-0 when Davis returned the ensuing kickoff ofr a touchdown to make it 24-6 at the half, then came out in the second half and scored five more TD's en route to a 55-24 a$$kicking of ND.

I would say the loss they just took against usc when matt lienhart threw 2 that wr on 4th and long 2 set up the game winning td. ND should have beat them but just gave up that big play
