I have tried a bunch of video editing programs. The best I've seen for home usage is Pinnacle Studio. They offer $30 and $50 versions. Check the features to see what you need.

Pinnacle is great for simple jobs. But if you're doing serious multi-camera editing, you'll need something better.

Best of success.
