Ok, i have sang for like, 6 years, and i have gone to Westminster choir college for a summer tutoring like thing. N e way, if it is one thing that i learned, try singing from your diaphram. it helps alot!! Ur probably wondering how... try pushing your stomache in as you sing and push the air from your stomach to your lungs and out comes a beautiful sound!! as for singing in front of people, you should try and get over the feeling that people will judge you. personally, i have had a rough time with that, but if you show peeps that you don't care, just belt it out and let ur beautiful voice come out. remember... push from ur diaphram!!!

One word...karaoke! That and hiring a voice coach. Singing karaoke will help you conquer your fear of singing in front of people, and the voice coach can help you with technique. Practice in your car, shower, etc. Find your range....what singer in music does your voice match? What style are you most comfortable singing? Whatever it is, emerse yourself in it, and practice practice practice...good luck!

take a class...it cant hurt. :) practice also....listen to cds and the radio and try to "mimic" their voices, see if you can get the high notes and the low notes....play by "ear" and see if you can develope your own voice/style :)

good luck :)
