ok i have tried to cut back on food but it seems like very time i try i fail. i have tried eating fruits and vegtables but it doesnt seem to . when i get bored alot of the time i eat . i have cut back on doing that but i really want to lose weight (10-60) pounds before then summer is over even if i have to keep on doing the diet/exercise thing through school i willl be ok with that . when i was younger i was really skinny but now that i am going into 8th grade i want to look skinny without putting my life on the line in doing so. most of my friends are skinny . and it makes me wanna lose the weight no matter what. my mom even says things about it . PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, you should talk to your family doctor to find out what your ideal weight range is.

Secondly, you need to lose weight for yourself to make you feel better not to please other people.

Set a realistic goal for yourself that doesn't put you underweight. Being underweight can cause a whole slew of health issues, just like being overweight can. Eat small, healthy meals, get at least 30 minutes of moderate exercises a day.

I recommend body for life (www.bodyforlife.com) as a diet plan. I've lost a considerable amount of weight on it and it helps you get out of the fast food/unhealthy food choice rut.

I can't stress this enough, starvation and deliberately trying to be underweight have severe repercussions to your health. If you are going to lose weight, make sure you're within the height/weight standards and don't go overboard.

ok im 14 when i was like 12 i decided i wanted 2 lose weight so this is what i did. before and after each meal i drank a glass of water. it really helps u lose weight. i stopped drinking reg sodas and i only drink diet. i dont know if that worked or not but whatever the summer i did that i lost atleast 25lbs maybe more im not sure but atleast 25. if u drink the glass of water before and after each meal cut back on friend foods and eat small portions u will surely lose weight this summer.

but if ur not like in danger with ur weight. like i mean if ur not overweight and ur not in danger of diabetes or heart failure or any other health condition dont try 2 lose weight. and plz dont become anorexic believe me its not worth anything u can get really sick from being anorexic (and bulimic 2). trust me i know. just do what i said above and it u'll be alot happier with the outcome. trust me with that 2

not dangerous, but it will slow down your metabolism. try eating smaller meals so you don't overeat when it is time to eat your lunch, dinner. i remember when i first got braces, the only thing i could eat/drink was jamba juice, yogurt and tofu. those of course didn't fill me up, so i would have to eat every two hours or so. i lost three pounds in four days. also, you have to eat healthy. eliminating soda and fried foods will help a lot. you will see results from doing just that. i cannot stress this enough. the other major component of weight loss is exercise. a little bit of strength training every other day with a little running or jump roping will boost your metabolism. try swimming, its the best for shaping up.

Well... I don't think eating twice a day will kill you, but I think that if you want to loose weight then you should try four very small meals a day. My spanish teacher said that in Puerto Rico (or some spanish place like that... lol) they eat four very small meals a day, and all of the people there are like tiny. I personally never tried it, but I think it makes sence. Because the less you eat the slower your metabalism gets. So if you eat a small meal in the morning (like one piece of toast), one small meal around a 11-11:30 (like a yogurt or something), one small meal at like 5-5:30 ish (like a sandwich or something), and one small meal at like 10 ish... then you should be set. Then once a week or so, you can treat yourself with one meal of whatever you want. I don't know if this will work because I never tried it, but it's something to consider! Good luck!

8th grade? 8th GRADE!?!?!?!? sweetie, do not think and or worry about your weight at this age...you do need to eat healthy as your body is still growing and developing and if you deprive it of the proper nutrients and calories, you can cause harm...speak with your doctor about what foods you should be eating and how much of these foods...but, do not conform to some societal standard, you are only going into 8th grade, your body will change tremendously over the years and now is not the time to try and diet and lose weight...eat well, get exercises and become confident in yourself and who you are....

Yes it would be dangerous......so don't do it. You'll only be starving yourself. I don't think you intake of fruits and veggies lasted to long. You didn't see immediate results so you got frustrated and stopped.

Eating right and exercise is a way of life....not a quick fix. IF your mom is giving you crap.....tell her to stop buying you twinkies and start buying you apples.

YOu won't lose 60 lbs before the summer is over.....you probably don't need to anyway.

thats the wrong way u need 2 have ur 3 balanced meals. its also how much u eat. r u happy with urself?? if yes it shouldnt matter how u look lik in the outside
