There was signifigant intelligence from a number of international intelligence sources indicating he had. There were some disputed sources that saddam had attempted purchases of some raw materials(uranium), he had an established history of using chemical weapons (which are WMD's), it was known he had done research in various biological weapons. A fact that has received very little coverage in the media is that the former top general in Saddam's air force has stated that just prior to our invasion of Iraq that WMD's were transported to Syria. Of course this was all after everyone had proclaimed Bush a liar and our reasons for going into Iraq a sham. No apologies have been forthcoming. You can believe whom you choose. i consider the sources. I choose to believe there were in fact WMD's. Even on the slim chance there weren't at that time..I believe that saddam was committed to acquire and use them. I also believe that saddam was a tyrant and he needed to go. Even without WMD"s we would have been justified to invade Iraq just on the basis of Saddams violations of the signed terms of surrender from the gulf war. So there is nothing illegal about us being in Iraq.

I think if I were a CSI and I found tens of thousands of dead bodies in mass graves in Iraq and they were killed by WMD. then I would use the barest amount of common sense, logic and reason and determine that there were WMD's.

He didn't. Mind you he won't talk about that now. Instead the Republicans gloss over the fact that they have taken thousands of Iraqi and American lives over a lie.
