You have to be blunt sometimes to get your point across. If they didnt want to know your oppinion they wouldnt of asked. Your ok they will get over it and probably find out that even though you were blunt you were right. Dont worry.

Check on your friend. See if you can get a reading to how she is handling the advice you gave her. If you sense some cold vibes, then try and explain. Let her know your intentions where never to hurt her. You really wanted to help. Sometimes, people can't handle "truths". Although the truth is always the best route to take. Sometime we have to sugar coat the truth which includes not telling it exactly like it is. Advice at times, is more damaging than the actual problem. But I am not saying to quit giving advice. Just remember in the future, when someone asks for your opinion watch their face carefully, or if not in person, the tone of their voice. This will tell you how they are handling what you are telling them. We never want to add to others problems, so always find something positive to say regardless of what the situation is.

No you are not wrong for telling them the harsh truth. I have have lost friends because of telling them the harsh truth and i noticed that if they cant take it from me, then they cant take it from somebody wo has already been through their situations. As i told them, if you cant take my brutal honesty then you needs to go to someone who will lie to you. But the thing is, they will find out down the line that your harsh truth, was actually right. Thats why i really dont care if they get mad at me when i give people advice.

By telling your friend the "harsh" truth, has it effected your friend in a negative way? If so, tell him/her that you didnt mean to be so harsh, but you thought it was the best to tell them the complete truth and you didnt want to lie to them. You can't go back to what you said, so just let that be. If they are upset, try to comfort him/her. Tell them that it is okay, that things will get better.

Since it is a concern for you, perhaps you should get back to your friend and ASK if you upset them. The response should ease your mind one way or another....Because at least you'll know, and will allow you to offer an explanation as you did here, and in addition.... to cease worrying about it.
