About an hour ago I asked a question about what women thought about naturalized americans. Most of the responses argued that as long as a Mexican is naturaliezed, paying taxes, and asimilating the culture, they shoyuld be accepted into the maintream culture. However, how can you tell one mexican from another? Would you treat them any different? Would you need to know their background first? Should Mexican then wear a tag that says, educated naturalized immigrant, illegal immigrant, 1st generation american and so on in order to be trated politely? Is differentiated treatment right? What should you do?

Well there is really no way to tell what their particular background is...I think most Hispanics kinda know what's up with what. My take on things are All Immigrants need to adhere to the policies of the USA. I'm Hispanic...Lived here all my life...can't speak Spanish...I get annoyed when Mexicans get an attitude with me..for not speaking my native language..And here they are not able to speak English...I have only been to Mexico once in my life..two years ago..for a weekend. I spoke as much Spanish as I could over there. We need to treat people as we would like to be treated. Also I personally do not want to use my tax dollars to give anyone a free ride.

All americans are immigrants. The ones who colonized first were the native americans, so they have the biggest claim.

However; All americans are immigrants. I personally see no need to differentiate between the two. I don't actually have to know. If someone is buying groceries, great. They pay money. If someone is working, great. They earn money. If someone is committing a crime, well, they go to jail or get deported.

It doesn't matter if you are a first, second or thirty-second generation immigrant. I'm a fourth-generation cuban immigrant, and I pay taxes just like backwoods bubba. Like the Prez's commercials said, "I am an American'.

Don't lie, cheat, steal, kill, embezzle, etc; and you're okay in my book.

In fact, statistically, more americans commit crimes than any other nationality (notice I said nationality, not race), so I think immigrants are great; they (eventually) will bring the crime rate down.

dude stop that seems like a racial comment to me don't you think were all the same and Mexicans don't need a tag to get identified you just ask them their name and find something both of them don't have in common so you can identify them that way
