It sounds like your network card is 100 Mbps.

You're typically connected to Company networks at 100 Mbps.

This is standard now-adays, there's 1 gig per second that's out there, - but who cares. You really don't need that kind of speed, - unless it's in a company between servers.

The lingo to use for the internet at the higher rate of speed it T1 or T3. T3 is 45 Mbps.

The 100mbps could be the speed of your Network Interface Card or the speed at which your local area network functions. Actual Internet speed is much less than that, ad can vary from 128kbps to T3 lines. Check with your ISP
