What causes some planes and ships to sink in the Bermuda Triangle? When was the last time something vanished?

The cause - weather or mechnical failures, as is the case with most ship wrecks and plane crashes. The Bermuda Triangle doesn't have any more of these disasters than any other heavily travelled ocean area on the globe.
