I think it is the fact that I am entirely too principled to dare compromise those principles. Irrespective of the consequences, I simply will not yield on something that is so fundamental to who and what I am. My core principles of personal morality, integrity and honour define me. So even though my life would doubtless be easier and my social calendar more full if I'd simply relax, retreat and sit on the fence instead of standing up to be counted, I will not do so. If I needs must fight for what is right, I shall do so. And if that fight should cost me my very life, I shall do so just the same.

There are actually many things, but mostly I think its that I accept people for who they are without question or prejudice. I feel that everyone has the right to be who they are, do what they like as long as it doesn't harm others and live life in the way it will make them happy. Even if I personally don't understand or don't agree with the way they are, it is their life and only they can choose how they wish to live it. My friends include all walks of life crossing all races, cultures, politics, religions, includes gays and even a cross dresser. I want people to accept me for who I am, so I accept them, unconditionally.

They dont understand why I would wear two different socks. I mean I don't wear a pair, I would take one red and one yellow, or one yellow and one green. They think that I am color blind and cant tell the difference between colors. I can, but I refuse to wear pairs because that's not me.

How I am perfectly happy listening to only country music my whole entire life. Everyone is always trying to "expose me" to other music. I don't live in a dungeon - I actually LIKE country. It is all I have ever chosen to listen to........my whole life. While that is a little strange in Southern California, DEAL!

They think I am rude or mean because I am always brutally honest, and I am obsessive-compulsive like Adrian Monk, and I can't help myself. I say what I think, I correct people's grammar, I'm terrible to work or live with.

People just don't understand why I'm so antisocial. It's always "You should talk more." or "Why don't you ever speak?" People just can't accept me, that I'm not a social butterfly and that I don't have so many friends.
