If you weren't over 35 I would say you'll be fine, but being over 35 puts you in the high risk pregnancy category already, so you really want to be in the best physical shape you can be before concieving. However, even if you just lose 15 or 20 lbs of it will help.
Talk to your ob/gyn, he or she will be able to give you the best advice, because he or she will know your body and health history.

Eh, that's iffy. 30 pounds is overweight, but you're not morbidly obese. Do you have regular periods? Many over weight women don't because the excess fat they carry around when they're heavier screws around with their estrogen, causing them not to ovulate monthly, thus causing infertility.
Will pregnancy be easier on you physically if you lose the excess weight? Probably. That's 30 pounds you would be carrying around, plus another 25-50 from your pregnancy, so sure...it'd be better for your body.
Just keep in mind that if you do diet, being too THIN can also cause infertility problems and be just as unhealthy for you as being too heavy.

it is always best to lose any excess weight before you get pregnant because it is harder afterward - think of it this way, if you start out with 30 extra and then gain 30 more with a pregnacy, you have 60 to lose after the baby - if you lose it now, then you only have the pregnancy weight to lose. Good luck!

Getting to your optimum health BEFORE conceiving is the best idea.
With my first child I was about 20 lbs overweight when I got preg. Overweight women are more likely to develope Gestational Diabetes (study up on it). And that is what I got. It is managable, but difficult, and makes pregnancy a lot more complicated to deal with.
Before trying with my 2nd, I lost the weight I needed to.
I DIDN'T get diabetes with that pregnancy. I credit it to getting myself in shape first.

I would suggest trying at least. Cause you are going to gain weight from the baby. Also being older it will be hard to lose the extra lbs after the baby too. Thats just my opinion though.

Weight plays a big factor in getting pregnant. Yes you need to loose it. Concentrate on exercising and getting healthy first, before conceiving. Though it doesn't mean you don't have to stop trying (if you know what I mean).

Yeah, reaching your ideal body weight is important both for you and baby. Overweight moms often experience more difficult pregnancies, but not always.

i think it would be harder for you to get to a normal weight after a pregnancy if you are already overweight but the best thing you could do is to check with your doctor

NO...your baby will take what he/she needs from you whether you like it or not. if you were your ideal weight you would end up looking like a prune not to mention the extra pain you'd have to endure. baby needs the optimal chance at survival and a healthy host is the best
