honey that's very sad to hear and i hate that that child went thru that.how old was the child?and why would you let such a thing happen like that to them.children are very importable, and they don't understand things like a adult would.death is scary to them so i think that that should of never happened if it was intentional!if not the best thing is to talk to them about it don't ignore what happened ,tell them u are there for them they can talk and ask you anything about it if you feel they need counseling do that, and kinda just tell them the person who died is not on this earth anymore to suffer they are in a far better place that person wouldn't want us sitting around crying all the time over them they loved them and want them happy.and they will see each other again when its the right time.god was ready for them now and every body will die in life that's our price for sin.just some earlier than others but we all go thru death ,and let the child know this ,it helped my daughter thru her grandmothers death

I know this sounds passe, but there are some great books and coloring books (I'm not sure how old the child is) that deal with death. I worked in a funeral home for 8 years and it was always hard to make the kids understand. You just explain it the best you can and if you don't know an answer, please don't just make one up, find the answer. Call one of your local funeral homes and they should have pamphlets for you or can direct you to someone who does. It's important for kids to understand and not have all these wrong ideas in their heads.
