It depends on your relationship with the girl - girlfriend, casual acquaintance, distant or close relative? My twin nephew and niece are graduating Saturday AND celebrating their 18th birthdays the same day. I'm giving money for the graduation but gift cards to their favorite stores for the birthdays, and for the girl, I'm putting her card in a small, trendy jewelry box because she always likes a little gift.

If she's going away to college and living in the dorms, try a gift card to someplace like Linens & Things or Bed Bath & Beyond, so she can get stuff for her dorm. Target has really cute graduation-themed photo album kits, with colored paper and stickers and stuff, so she could make her own scrapbook. Or really, money's always nice to get for graduation.
