You should never strain while using the bathroom.
Now, assuming you mean stains, I have great success with a product called The Works that you can buy in WalMart.

I Bought The Brillo Oxi Action Scrub Pads and Used them In my Shower,On the Sink and around the Toilet,Just wet them and Scrub,Let the foam Sit for about 10 Seconds and then Rinse..VIOLA!

You certainly don't want to use products with toxins or chemicals in them like chlorox or bleach etc.... very bad for your heath to breath in the fumes. I find the tea tree oil products get the best results and they are concentrated. They just eat the stains away, especially in the bathroom. Are the stains in the tub? toilet bowl?

It depends on what kind of stains you have. But I buy Clorox with Teflon or Scrub Free and their awesome. The Scrub Free isn't really scrub free but stains come off real easy with little scrubbing. The Clorox with Teflon does not have bleach in it at all and it smells great. It is just the Clorox brand.
