If it is a female that left you at the table consider it as experience. But if it was a friend of yours that you have known for 2 or 3 years.. Pay the check, then find that person and then in your own way.. make him pay for it... the best way you can think
of with out leaving any blood of theirs on your clothes or hands.
Oh! and Please make sure there are No Witnesses.

I would pay and not stiff the server, but I would def. square up with the so called friend, that left you in that position, and if that wasnt possible, I wouldnt be hanging out with them anymore. Is a $10 dinner really worth ruining a friendship you ask?? Well, obviously the friend didnt think very much of you to just leave you hanging there with the bill....and wasnt comfortable enough with asking you to cover his back and then he would pay you back. My grandfather once said if you lend someone $50 and never see them again, then it was a bargain. I say you pay the bill and tell this jack*** that you will not be hanging with them until they square it up, and any future outings are separate checks. If they don't square up, then good riddance. You are only out the cost of a dinner and now you know you don't need this moochin' sandbag in your life. That is not a friend, man. That's a scav.

I would pay the check....then in the future, that particular person would be notified when we sat down for a meal, that he or she would be expected to pay their share of the meal. In fact, I would inform the waiter that there would be two checks one for me and one for the other person.
