Do you live in the city? There are lots of things to do, depending on what you like. Many things don't cost anything, like biking, rollerblading, picniking in the park, walking, reading, rearranging your room, inviting friends over to listen to music and other no-cost things. If you have a beach, go swimming...it's good exercise and you could meet some new friends. What is it about summer that you hate? The heat? Trying to come up with activities? All your friends leave town? Or do you live out in the burbs, or worse...in the sticks? I live in a rural area, though I live in a small city (less than 2,000 peeps). The kids hang at the park, throwing hoops, rollerblading, biking or they go to the beach. Some just chill in front of the tube all day. There's not a whole lot to do around here because this is a retirement community, so many of the activities are geared for old folks (bingo & such). The kids don't have a whole lot to do, other than summer school, where at least they're doing something with their friends. How about learning something new? Crochet, knitting, scrapbooking, stenciling, calligraphy, guitar, or gardening. Set aside a small area of your yard and make a rock garden, planting plants that do well in that area. Tending to it will give you a sense of peace and satisfaction. You'll learn what works and what doesn't. Look up things on the internet and see what looks good for your garden. Go to a hobby shop, or to the craft area at your local department store and see what's out there that you could learn. I learned how to knit when I was 14. Now I make sweaters, skirts and even curtains. It sure comes in handy when you can't afford to buy what you want. Maybe there's a summer class at your local tech school that can teach you something new, like pottery. Or put yourself on a schedule to read so many books before the end of summer, boosting your vocabulary as well as giving you hours of enjoyment. The library is full of great books, not all fiction either. There are craft books there too, or learn about the care of dogs, cats or horses, so that maybe you'll be better equipped to babysit someone's animal sometime in the future. So, you see, there are things you can do, if you want to do them. Hope you find something to your liking. <*)))><

summer is the best time of the year! It's not long enough! But then I live in Canada and we get winter 6 months of the year. Maybe get a summer job working at the city carnivals or be a lifegaurd at the swimming pools. Work in a burger joint.

Move to Antartica? Or move to Cali where the summer's are gorgeous and you can truly appreciate it. I'm from Santa Barbara, and I recommend going there at least once in your life during the summertime because it is AMAZING! We even have a town called Summerland, so you know you're in the right place for beautiful summers and great weather almost all year round.

It depends how old you are, if you old enough to get a job than get one. If you are not than go hang out with your friends, go to pool, play video games. If you want to do something good, go build something of your own if you have backyard or the woods next to your house. Build with friends, that what me and my friends did. =)
