go to the dealership manager and tell him/her that if this other woman doesn't start working her share, then you will be persenting them with your 2 week notice.
do not be mean and bitchy, however, do not be sweet and nice. be firm and fair about it. do not whine and complain.
state the facts:
--since so-and-so left, the other admin person dumps all the extra work on me, such as:
(then list what she's dumping on you).
--i have tried asking her to pitch in, yet she doesn't.
--i have already had a visit to the hospital once b/c of work induced stress. i enjoy my job here and i do not want to have to resign, however, i feel that if something doesn't change, then i have no choice.
then the ball is in their court. they are well aware of your discontent. if they choose to do nothing, then you have no bad feelings for giving them your notice. they had ample opportunity to correct the problem and didn't.
i would be prepared to start putting applications in at other dealerships and other job prospects immediately, b/c chances are slim that things will change.
also, be prepared for them to say "well, if it's that tough, then you can leave now". it's a long shot, i doubt it will go that way, but i just wanted to prepare you for the worst.
i hope things work out and get better!
take care!

If you are stressed out enough to visit the E.R., you do indeed need another job. I recently read car dealerships are very interested in women sales people. It seems we have become a powerful buying force.
If you have run the course with this, I suggest getting another sales job in another field. You do have selling experience. Of course, picking up some business credits at the local college can't hurt either. Good luck

It sounds like you have good office skills. Legal secretaries make good money. So do Loan Processers at mortgage companies. both fields are pretty easy to get into. The only thing about loan processing though is that you usually get paid on comission, so it takes a while for the money to come in. Most places will start you on a training wage though. Once you know what you're doing though its great $. my processer works with me and 3 other loan officers, and she made over 100k last year! good luck!

find new work...quickly. I assume your doing administrative work there at the dealership and if you do that there, the you can do it at any other place as well. Find a new job, a better job and after about a couple of months or so, go back to your old job and check up on your lady friend and see how she's doing. make sure you rub it in her face a little too.

I think you answered your own question. Don't quit yet, but start looking around for another job. You stand a better chance at be hired elsewhere if you are currently employed and under no circumstances if they ask you why you want to leave your job, do not bad-mouth your current employer. Possible say you are looking to advance your career.
