www.MusiciansFriend.com is the best site I would say. They have a
Washburn XB100 Bass Pack for only $129.99 and a Black
Dean Playmate Edge 09 Bass Package for $149.99. Not to mention free shipping.

eBay. I bought a great vintage fretless Ibanez for $500 with shipping included. I'd rec commend a Fender Jazz or P bass...I have a Fender Jazz bass, Mexican made, that feels great and plays great. The Squires are cheaper but sound awful.

ebay is cheapest but it's easy to get burned if you don't know what you're looking at or for...been buying guitars for 20 years myself and I suggest samash.com great service and hopefully you have one around you..Sam Ash Music, where you can go look but even if not.... think Ibanez, great guitars for the money (probably can get an outstanding rig for around $200.00) and avoid Carlos Rossi or whatever the heck they're called.
