I am a skin care specialist. Once you have tried Clarins Multi Active day lotion / gel, you would be hooked!! Its so light and is absorbed so nicely ... There will be no grease or oil film on the skin and the skin feels so well hydrated and healthy and makeup looks great over it.
You could get a free sample of the lotion at any big department store that sells Clarins.. Its a french brand of skincare and cosmetics and very gentle. Very popular in Europe. It may be priced on the higher side but you still get a sample free of charge to try :) Macy's stores in America carries this brand as well as most large department stores around the world.

I am a BeautiControl consultant and so I have had some training in this area. You really need to be sure that you are using a good skincare system. Always cleanse, tone and moisturize daily for best results with make-up and over skin health and appearance.
You can check out our line on my website if you'd like. It works wonders, I can really tell the difference in my skin and how my make-up stays on if I don't use it. There are different types too for different skin types. Oily use 20's type skincare, Normal/combination use 30's type, and Dry use 40's type. We also have a line for sensitive skin and acne prone skin. It's always best to use a skincare product made especially for your type of skin so that you get the best out of it.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion is the best. Its good for all skin types and does not become greasy. If your skin is a little oily though you can try the gel version of it

I use Clinique because it's the only one that I've tried that actually moisturizes without making my face look totally greasy. I have naturally oily skin, so this is a plus, but they have 4 types for 4 different types of skin.

Aveeno. It's hypo allergenic, great for even the most sensitive skin. And it's approved by dermatologists all over. Not to mention it really works well :-)
