I dont really want to look for a job, I go to school now, and I havent had a real job for about 2 years. I think it is taking its toll on me, its making me lazy. How can I go through life without the desire to work? Im an international business major, but I cant find a job that really appeals to me.

I have also contimplated just moving to Thailand and trying to find a deserted island and just set up shop. Is that plausable? Some people have plane crashes and live on deserted islands for years.

maybe your line of education isn't really what you want to do. Are you that major for yourself, or for others? It's hard to get geared up for a job you don't really have an interest in. Perhaps you should rethink your major and take stock in where you would like your life to take you. Or perhaps you should make your own road and take your life along with you. The key is to be happy doing what you do. That way your heart is in it. Good luck with your journey. And of course, if you can get someone to pay for it, there's always grad school!

who would want to be with a lazy person? i know i dont.
Just ask yourself what you want to do best (were not talking about here sitting all day in front of a tv or doing nothing the whole day...) what i mean is doing something productive like collecting stamps, sports or any hobby or anything that you are good at and enjoy doing it. Then do it and concentrate on it, be the best in it and make a living out of it. In this way you dont have to work for the rest of your life. (",)

eventually starvation and exposure to the elements will make you want to work.
Actually, just learn to live on very little money. Don't go into debt. Live without things like Cable TV or XM radio... Grow a garden, etc. Once you can live on less you won't need to make as much. You could work part-time or work doing something that doesn't feel like work (problem is the easy jobs don't pay well).

As much as a real job type job lacks appeal to you... you need to consider the alternative. Even if your family helps you out with some dough you will always be beholden to them and won't get to make your own choices.
And if they can't or won't help you out then you need to eat and house yourself some way... and as bad as a career type job seems it is better than digging ditches... or a life of crime which will end you up in prison.

Well, if you're still going to school and you can afford it, just wait until you graduate. Then you can muster up the energy to go look for a job that you love. That, in itself, will give you the desire you need to succeed.

hey, if it makes you feel better - I don't want to work either. But I also don't want have to lose my house. So, since I am able to work, I get up and go anyway. A lot of people don't want to work and a lot of people have to work. It is just a matter of getting up each day and doing something you can deal with. Good luck!

Join the club buster.....a LOT of us don't really want to work, but we do because it's better than being supported and sponging off the system. If that's all you want to do......get off the planet....we don't need any more people with THAT attitude.

If you get hungry enough or end up with no home or clothes to wear, you will find the initiative to work!

I guess that's one way to get away from your wife, son, and the pool cleaner. Good luck!
