Death will come one day. No one can avoid it. When you're lying on your death bed and thinking back, what would you like to see? Are you on track? Would you like to perhaps know that you made a difference in the world, or even someone's life. Would you want to be remembered fondly, or maybe just remembered (even for you bad deeds!)?
How would you want to have lived in your past when there is no future to look forward to?

I would like to have built my very own idyllic little world where I can be in the arms or shoulder with the special people I love dearly. I would like the little world to always have its doors open to all the people who are classified as crazy or unstable in emotion without being linked to violence and the dark side of nature or the underworld. I would build it with walls of flowers and with the music of nature and the melody of plaintive songs threading their way through the clean and fresh environment. I would have sections built where the myriad arts may flourish to scintillate like jewels to attract the denizens of that idyllic world - in other words the people I love to have around and jumping out of nooks and corners with the Flag of Good Cheer unfurled and a smile on their face. So many thought whirl around my mind as I write this but I know that my young comrade will know what I mean and he will know that the palace I build will not be in the Gulag Archipeligo

What is the question? I think you asked about 8. And what's the deal with the time concept of the last one? For myself, I would change nothing if given a second chance and keep living my life this way because thingink about "what if" is a waste of time and impossible. No regrets man, we are not perfect. And death may be a reward and not a punishement.

My primary wish is to see that my children ( and eventual grandchildren ) are content and well-adjusted, and that my death causes no financial strain on my family. I'll be remembered fondly for my humanitarian efforts ( I say "efforts" because there's only so much one person can do ), and my sardonic sense of humor.

Just the act of being makes profound differences in people's lives; that's unavoidable.

I hope to have banked a lot of Good Karma in this lifetime, in my next life I will have less obstacles to deal with. Don't get me wrong, I've had a rewarding and quite happy life, but there are a few things I'd liked to have skipped, like losing my Dad when he was 58, although lets me know he really isn't too far away and I'd better behave myself!

To know that I accept myself and take responsibility for all of my actions (both good and bad - though hopefully I've taken steps to correct the bad ones). Maybe it's just b/c I just saw "Groundhog Day" again - but it's not until he's 100% at peace with his life that Bill Murray's character can move on.

When I look back, I want to know that I tried to do my best...that when I failed I tried to learn, when I hurt someone I made amends and was sorry, and that I tried to go to bed each night with peace in my mind. Whether I am remembered for what I did right or wrong is not as important as to be remembered for my journey. We have all done good and bad...but we do not dictate to those around us as to what they want to see when we die. When I die.. it will be about who I am...rather than who people may think I am..

I want to have done it all. I don't want to approach the grave with a well preserved body, I would rather come sliding in with a beer in one hand, and cake in the other, a total wreck, exclaiming "Man, wotta ride!"
