Well when you buy a game for pc you always have to look at the back of the game box to there it says the system requirements. And if ur a pc wiz you'll know what it needs but if ur not you can always ask the employees there and tell them the kind of computer you have! Well Good Luck! :-)

I have a question before i can answer your question. How old is your computer, and how long ago has your game been released? If your computer is older than 2001, I say you might want an upgrade, either a new computer or just some new parts. I had a problem with a graphics card in my computer that when I replaced it, my games on my computer ran just fine. Or you could be experiencing a problem with the game's root source ( what it runs on ie. DOS, Windows, Apple, etc) and the main system's platform (once again, Windows, Apple, etc.) Do you have a DVD drive? If you don't, you may want one, since; although I haven't seen it; your game may be on a DVD disc. Download a DVD reader if you do, and I think you will be fine. Happy gaming!

The Sims games are huge, and so your computer may not be able to run it. I would try to delete some unused memory such as videos and large unused files. That should clear up some space. But many people have problems with this huge game. Also, make sure it came with the original The Sims, because most of the new ones are bonus packs.

Yep, probably the video card. I bought The Battle for Middle Earth 2 and had to return it because I would've had to buy a brand new 85$ video card. It's weird because I have the Sims 2 and it works fine with my current video card. If you have the earlier Sims games then there must be something wrong with the games or your computer is really messed up.

Is it the Sims 2 or just regular old Sims?
If it's Sims 2, then your computer probably can't handle the game. I had to purchase a new computer to be able to play mine (I didn't buy my computer just for that, I needed a new one anyway, but I made sure when I bought it that it could handle the game).

Sounds like the video card isn't good enough for what the game wants to do. If you tried to open the game after installing it, and it stopped up or just didn't open, then yea you probably need a better video card. To come up with other ideas, I'd need a better diagnosis.

before you can play any sims game you first have to download the very first sims game for your computer. be sure your computer meets all the requirements for the download. If anything needs updating get that done first. also uninstall any sums you installed then download the first one and reinstall any subsequent sims games. i also found if they are installed in order they play better.

In The Bob Newbie household, in tutorial mode, their stats do not go down as long as you do not finish the tutorial. This allows them to never die as long as the tutorial is not exited. This also lets you build up their skills and get promoted till you have loads of cash which you can marry into other families.
Alternatively the cheat Ctrl + Shift+c Then "Rosebud;!;! Repeating" Gives lots of Money for free but doesn't help for skills or job tract

You may already know this, but you need the first, original Sims to download any expansion packs just like for any other games.
