I saw a show on television involving something called therapeutic touch and I was wondering if it is the same as Chakra Cleansing or just similar.

Therapeutic touch is like acupuncture and yes you can learn to do it. I would advise though you study under someone who has done if for a least three years.. I am a energy healer and have practiced if for 20+ years but there is a good book which I still read quit often it is by Barbara Ann Brennan.. and is called hands of light.. Even though it is not what you might be looking for but in her book she how to use Therapeutic healing.. Also in the same line Energy Healing by Ruth White..Also if you are interested look into Chakr, or Rieke I am a Reike Master and I deal with Aromatherapy, Essential Oils, and Therapeutic Massages..Like I said if you are interested in alternative healing this is a great way to go... So may the spirit be with you and happiness in you new adventure.

Therapeutic touch is an umbrella word for many different types of bodywork and massage. Chakra Cleansing is the new age term for "clearing the field" around the body. There are many massage schools--I suggest that you find a school that has national certification (if you are in the US) and they will prepare you for the national certification exam. This licence, National Certification of Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers gives you the assurance that you are not taught any of the "funny stuff." It also gives you the credibility and the oath of ethical conduct, which is the pledge to perform therapeutic touch.
