If your record player has audio jacks on the back, hook them up to a Y-connector and get an audio-jack adapter and plug it into the Line-in plug to your sound card and then get a recording program like Total Recorder or Gold Wave and record the song as it is playing.
The default format is .wav. You can then convert this to a CD using Windows Media Player.
This is the poor man's version, and what I use. The more expensive stuff allows direct connection to Audio cables with right and left channels.

Type the song into limewire and download it. I got most of my album songs replaced to cd that way.
