Drink a glass of water upside down (your lips go across to the oppisite side of the glass, and you have to lean over to drink.) Or, have a friend skare the h#$% out of you--but you have to arrange this with your friends beforehand.

Get a normal size drinking glass (about 8 oz) and fill it half full with water. Put one teaspoon of sugar in it, as well as a butter knife, point down. While taking a drink of water allow the dull end of the butter knife to rest on the middle of your forehead. Drink the water as quickly as possible, and your hiccups should go away.

I know this sounds insane, but it really works. I'm not sure why it works....I assume it has something to do with the butter knife laying on one of your pressure points....you're 3rd eye chakra. Good luck!

Best way, works every time, even on skeptics:
Put a paper towel over the top of a small glass of water, drink through the paper towel, when the water's gone,, so are your hiccups. :)

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. If you only get them on the odd occasion then there isn't a lot you can do, they burn themselves out but if you suffer from them on a regular basis then you may have a digestive problem and you should see a doctor.

Guaranteed: Drink as much water as you can with your nose shut tight (clasp with fingers). So you're really holding your breath while drinking. Make sure you don't let any air in through either your nose or mouth. Keep going longer and longer and longer.
