DO YOU? I mean, it depens on your self, why you need to do it, to spend the time, to get some money for your personal expenses, to save in order to buy something that you want to have and cannot get.

It depends in a lot of things, and you should think about it. I would say, if you have nothing better to do, it would be a good idea, a job will give you some experiences that you might haven't had, and that will help you in the future, when you will really NEED to get a job.

But if you are going to quit studies, or to quit some lessons you are taking and you like, then, maybe is not worth it.

If you really want a job, you can get a part time job in almost any fast food store, and they are good because of a young environment in that kind of business.

You dont need or have to get a job when you turn 16. You can if you want to though. Work in the mall or at any retail store. Think of a clothing store or dvd store etc that you LOVE and apply to work there because anywhere you work you will get a discount when you purchase stuff there.

I think when you turn 16 you need a job because you will be able to buy your own things and don't worry about what your parents have to say about it. the best job for a 16yrs old girl right now is fast food or a store.

Yes it is...It will teach them a work ethic and teach them some responsibility.
I started working when I was 15 and a half ...my first 5 jobs were at the local mall.
Gift stores, clothing stores, the display marketing team at Robinsons May....there was a little more pride in that than fast food.

Definatelly put that kid to work

You don't *need* to, but it's good experience and gives you a degree of independence. Usually teenagers get jobs like working at a fast food place, or bagging groceries or stocking shelves at a supermarket. But ask all your family friends if they know of any job openings that you could get.

Usually all that is available for a 16 year old is a position in the food service industry. but hey, it is a start...fast food places are strict and they are a great training ground for future jobs you may have.

Need to or have to? There is no law that you do but it's a good age to start having the responsibility and get extra spending money.
Babysitting or camp counselor
Convenience store (like CVS)
Mowing lawns

At 16 I worked at a grocery store, they were flexible with my school schedule and not too late at night!

I also got a scholorship through them when I went to college, worked out really well for a school job.
