LOL Think you need Yahoo! Mental Rants more than Yahoo! Answers.
But I do agree with some of what you said there. If people just got on with their lives instead of taking it upon themselves to "save" as many souls as they can, we'd all be much happier I reckon

If what you say is true that after death there is nothing then why are getting so worked up about someone else's beliefs? Get over it.

If there is nothing after death then I don't think I will have wasted my time and it won't matter what I, you or anyone else thinks for that matter.

If there is a God and you have wasted a lifetime then what do you stand to lose?

I am sure that all those people in africa dying of hunger and disease don't quite agree with your idea that this is heaven - you need to get a life yourself and do some reality checking yourself.

You are absolutely right that "man" has spoilt everything which proves that "man" doesn't have all the answers - but if you read some scriptures and pray to God then you will know what to do to put things right again.

You are right God does give a second chance but you need to realise how to take the chance - reading your comments it doesn't appear that you would even know whether you were on your second or millionth chance.

Read up on some Hindu scriptures and try to understand Karma, reincarnation etc which will show you just where you are going wrong.

Gosh what a cynic. Although, I suspect that you don't really mean what you write. You are looking for reassurance.

If you were a spirit wandering around the afterlife and another spirit said to you, "hey mate, do realise that on the other side there are spirits like us wandering around inside physical bodies"
You would probably reply. " get away what a load of nonsense"

It's all about perspectives, it depends where you start your arguament from. I find it easier to believe in an afterlife than to try and get my head around some of the things that scientists tell us. Eg. some planets are millions of light years away - the earth is five billion years old.
Also, try to tell me what is beyond the edge of the universe. You can't see gravity or electricity. You can go on and on.

You believe in those things so why can't you accept that maybe the soul is a form of energy, that, like a DVD has encapsulated the whole of your life. You can only find God through faith not by having things proven to you like like the scientists do with the physical world.

You are right though, there are a lot of religious hypocrites about, who tend to use religion like a battering ram to beat people over the head with. They only understand the letter and not the spirit of religious faith.

I have to wonder if you are that sure about your beliefs then why are you so angry? So what, you have no afterlife to look forward to, doesn't mean you have to take that hope away from the rest of us who.

As for YOU telling me I will "be in for a blody shock when I die" well if I am then that means there is an afterlife now doesn't it! You just contradicted yourself, again. Get off the pulpit and stop preaching like a pentecostal minister. Afterall, YOU are wasting your precious last moments in what you call "heaven."

Christians would say you're two-thirds right: this can/should be heaven, and sure, we have mucked it up. That's why the gospel of Jesus is good news that starts as soon as we say yes to him - we don't have to wait for pie in the sky when we die. (But of course there is the understanding that this that we call reality is just a pale shadow of the real thing to come.)

The dead when you're dead bit comes from a too-close association of the person with the body.

Whatever.... I believe in heaven hell ghosts angels devils and what not, I don't go around preaching it because people are entitled to their beliefs, why do you take such offence to people who believe there is more to life than life. You talk about how christians are obnoxiouse? You Athiests just won't let up.... it's impossible to have a conversation with you people because thats all you want to talk about.... chill out a little, why is it so bothersome if we choose to believe in heavan. So... good for you for believeing strongly in what you believe in but settle down, we will all know what the truth is when we die, until then it's up to the individual to decide.

Wow - you really have a downer on those with a faith - what harm do their beliefs do you? Absolutely we should live life to the fullest and be grateful for what we have, but that doesn't mean we can't/shouldn't believe in something after. If you disagree, fine, but unleashing this kind of tirade, which isn't even a question, is a bit unecessary. Just chill out.

Right on man! kinda sad, but very true. Everyone should enjoy life the way they want to, not spend it making sure they get into heaven. No matter how much you pray, there is no afterlife. There is none. Life is what you and others around you make it. Heaven OR Hell. and preachers make it hell for us who know the truth. you might die tomorrow, so enjoy today while it lasts. It's all you're getting. Carpe Diem.

I believe that isn't a question.

but anyway, i don't personally agree there is a god or heaven. But that's just my opinion.

On the other hand i can understand why people like to believe in or have faith in these beliefs. Its hope!

All of us are afraid of the end, no more of life left. We simply wont exist anymore.

It is a scary prospect, that's why I understand all the different religions & there beliefs.

There is a God and he gives us a second chance. Our being on this earth is no accident and how would you explain all the things that go on. Would you say it is evolution or gases? It isn't, it is God's will and plan for each one of us to be on this earth and for everything to happen. I will be praying that you will find the truth.
