Reason I ask is because my parnter and I are trying for a baby and each time after sex I lay on my back with my hips elevated. After about 30 minutes I always have to pee and a friend told me that if you pee after sex you decrease the chance of becoming pregnant because the sperm can fall out. Is this true?

Ok... I wasn't looking for people to criticize me about my question. I am not a child and not too young to have a child or raise one. Please dont answer my question if you can't do it without being critical or make nasty comments. All I was wanting to know is what my friend said true?

I know pee isn't going to wash out the sperm.... I meant it falling out of me when I sit on the toilet.

I am sorry for some nasty answers poster by others here - I get your point (honestly, and I don't have an idea why the hell they are reacting that way). First off, once the guy's white fluid (they will delete it if I type it) enters you, the sperm in it travels and looks for the entrance towards your egg. They can stay there for up to 3 days or so. Now, the opening in a woman's vagina, is not really open (repeat: not really open) upon itself. As you can observe, it only stretches out when you are aroused (when having sex) but most of the time, the way is closed. You can try fingering yourself when you take a shower - you will see that your finger will find it unsmooth to enter your inside without much arousal.
Yes, if you pee, even if you stand, the fluid goes down - you can prove this by examining your panty after a day of having sex. There's a sort of discharge but that is actually the "fluid". However, the sperm may not be there anymore when the fluid goes out. Remember, the "fluid" is not all sperm. Like a woman's fluid, it looks like that because the sperm needs a mode of transportation. You do not expect that fluid to be absorbed by your vagina, right? So eventually, because of gravity, it will go out. But the sperm remains in. 30 mins is enough to be able to have a safe peeing. As long as you do not touch it inside and disturb the motion.

Generally there is no problem at all having sex whilst pregnant. It can't harm the baby at all. If you have had bleeding then they will sometimes tell you to refrain for a while until it has settled down. If it concerns you then ask your Dr/MW just to give you peace of mind. If you know its ok then maybe you'll be able to relax with your hubby and that will help you to get in the mood. As for being O Neg blood, this is no longer a problem at all so you don't need to worry. The reason is the blood type (O) is not a problem it is with being Rhesus Negative. Your hubby must be positive (as if he is Neg then it is not a problem), so your baby may well be positive too. This was a major problem as little as 50 years ago, but not any more. If there is any blood transfer between your blood and the baby during the birth (usually there isn't) then your blood develops antibodies to fight off the +ve blood, which in the past would cause the baby to get sick (they were called blue babies and frequently died) and cause miscarriage in the mothers future pregnancies. Now they just give you an injection of Anti-D after the birth (if your baby has +ve blood) and this prevents the development of antibodies. I freaked when I first found out as I was A Neg and my hubby +ve. I've got 4 +ve babies. Not an issue these days. So pleased to have been born now rather than 70 yrs ago! It sounds to me like this pregnancy has been stressful all the way through for you. You are over the risky period, you need to relax and enjoy the pregnancy, enjoy the remaining time that you and your hubby have as a twosome and enjoy the changes your body is going through to bring this little person into the world. This is a really special time for you both. Don't waste it worrying! If you focus on cherishing this time together, then you may find the urges return. Good luck.

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/kum5e
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

NO! This is actually good for you because it can decrease your chances of getting a UTI. BUT.....
If you want to further improve your chances of conceiving, after ejaculation, take these steps:
1> The man should keep his penis in the vagina as deeply as possible so that a minimal amount of ejaculate leaks out
2> After withdrawing his penis, the man can gently press the woman's labia together to prevent further leakage
3> The woman should remain lying on her back for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, preferably with her lower back supported by a pillow so her pelvis is tilted slightly upward
And I totaly agree, people do not need to answer if they are not going to be serious. The catagory is TTC, HELLO!
Good Luck Sweetie I am also TTC!

No. Those little sperms are swimmers and once they enter your body they immediately begin to swim toward the egg. It's true that the semen will drip out when you sit on the toilet, whether you are sitting right after, 30 minutes later, or the next morning. But the sperm have already started making their way up your fallopian tubes.

That's not true, actually elevating your legs or bottom don't help when your partner ejacjulates theres a small pool of semen that collects in the vagina which in your case you could get pregnant the day after sex. try visiting plannedparenthood.com

No it's not true...In fact there are alot of myths to watch out for...one of my favorites is the women who thing if they douche they can "wash out" the semen...when in fact all they are doing is giving the sperm an "express ticket" to where they were headed in the first place.
Go to www.babyzone.com ...you need more information...about your body, about the human reproductive system, about pregnancy...and probably about babies.
Good luck.

MY DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT IF YOU HAVE SEX AND THE NGO TO PEE RIGHT AFTER, THERE IS STILL SPERM THEIR. ALOT OF WOMEN PEE AFTER AND THATS GOOD TO CLEAN ALL THE BACTERIA OUT. AND I TRUELY BELEIVE IT! I ALWAYS GO TO THE BATHROOM RIGHT AFTER AND THAT WILL NOT DECREASE THE CHANCES AT YOU GETTING PREGNANT...... DON'T WORRY. JUST KEEP TRYING
ALWAYS TRY 14 DAYS FROM THE DAY THAT YOU START YOUR CYCLE.
GOOD LUCK...
