You will have a main water valve coming into your condo. You can shut that off to fix the broken valve. Usually the main water shut-off valve is inside your condo near the water meter... This will shut off the water in your entire condo (and should leave other condos unaffected)

Or, if you can see a service door near the shower to access the plumbing for the shower, there may be a shutoff valve in this service area that you can shutoff, restricting water for only the shower.

Good luck.

Good luck.

typically there is a shut off valve behind a panel by the tub/shower.

If there is no way to get to it directly, shut off the hot water from your water heater and shut off the main water into the house.

Turn on any spiquets near and below the shower room.

wait till the water stops running, then plumb away!

There should be a water main shut off valve near your water heater...make sure you turn your water heater off as well if it will take you some time to replace the knob....otherwise, you will have to shut your water off outside at the meter...take a crescent wrench (small)

There should be a valve in the utility room or basement. Could be near the water meter also. Maybe you could just call condo owners assos. and ask?

you can shut off your water at the shut off that the town has out by the street or you should be able to shut it off right where it comes into your house or even right by the pipes that run into the shower(if their accessible)

You will have to find the main water valve and turn it off there unless you have a cutoff somewhere else, (near the house or in the garage perhaps.)

First check with the maintenance folks there who do the property management-your water line might be connected to the whole building. Call them first.
