There is a link on apc.com where you select the model that you have and the power consumption of what's connected to the ups and it'll say what the standy time (battery time) you have.

As time goes on, the batteries do not hold the charge as long. These batteries might only last three years. So TEST the batteries regularly.

I only use a UPS for my high speed modem, router and Vonage Telephone adapter. I have found that my high speed internet and phone service are still alive through a power outage.

In general, when the power goes out, you should be working to go through Shutdown before the batteries go dead.
