That is easy, as I complain about this all the time. I think there needs to be more games where there are female main characters. Additionally, I would create one that is not just a "sex object." The outfit could be attractive, but the focus would need to be on the character herself. Any further information, I will save for my husbands game creation--and marketing, thanks anyway lol.

Options. Lots and lots of options and the ability as the player to completely create the character to my own personality and whim. For example, the SIMS PC games offer a great but not perfect ability to completely develop the characters. But as we all know, the SIMS is not a game played on most leading game systems. Neither does it give complete reign to the player/consumer, in that even though there is an available selection of different characteristics and behavioral modifications, they are limited to the measurability of the program's design and the boundaries in regard to the percentage and graphic options available on each characteristic task bar. If you're familiar with the games, then you should be able to comprehend my meaning. If not, I apologize for not being clear enough.
Another great comparison of a really good and well but not yet completely perfected game is the Grand Theft Auto series. In the game, which I believe is made for Playstation (I forget which system specifically, as I haven't played it in a really long time), the player is allowed to be creative with the character within very stringent limits. Granted, the premise of the GTA games involves a complex storyline for which the game is developed to progress around, but the character could be referred to in a generalized manner without a specific name. Therefore, allowing the player to have more creative control of the character, whom we all know to be the fantasy embodiment of all our taboo and base desires to just smash and destroy things. Also, there are clothing selections which are way too limited, as well as physical character attributes that just don't add up to the masses of different people actually playing the game. As a great fan and enthusiast of these games, I am speaking through personal experience and observation. Being that I am female, I would also like to see a female character with the same amount of open options, for myself and the other Girls who play these games. Also, I am aware that the GTA games are based on quasi-real characters and aspects of our culture that in reality do require these limitations to preserve the integrity and true grit manner of the game. However, as a foundation for a new game entirely, this could be monumental. Is that good for you?--Maryann Peele [ mpeele121686@yahoo.com]

Well besides Kirby which is pretty much ideal.

A Tall Male Character that is skinny with dark-blue hair and dark goggles. He would have a blue cape covering a black velvet new-age body armor. On his shoulders would be Tough metal braces. His special ability would be stealth and psychic abilities. Guns are too messy for the job. I'd imagine that he cannot fly as that would be too strange. Also not too Anime-like more realistic, although he has blue hair. He would speak in tech-no babble and use both hands to influence his environment.

He also has the ability to replay time I guess you would say. It would be a major game play element where you could basically copy yourself and then play out the level, switching* between different versions of himself. (Maybe different traits for each Variation) And the enemies would change their behavior in each {Time line?} for how you have used and acted in the variations.

Difficult ot put in words.

I love characters with depth and personality. There is nothing worse than a game populated by stereotypes. Of course, being a woman, I want to see more games with female characters that aren't just barbie dolls. It would be fun to play someone who was fiesty, smart, and not chasing after guys. Some female characters I think fit that bill are Yufi from FF VII, Eve from Parasite Eve, and Jessica from Lunar Silver Star Story.

I agree with other responces that say real-life movement and features so you don't get stuck with cookie-cutter players. Females need to be adjustable in all forms, not everyone has big breasts, slim legs, and blue eyes. Differenrent races need to be taken into account, so the features can truly look like an african or asian. Building people isn't easy, but visulaizing them is. We need to be able to build what our mind creates to get the best results.
I think that a personality trait is superb, pushing game play to just beyond Mario hitting turtles. We want to know why our characters do the things they do and what makes them;Them. I want a character I can relate too, understand, and grow with for better game play. I want to be able to put myself in the character and know what they're fighting for. It makes it all that more of a victory for me.

Honestly? I would make him nothing like myself. I would go with a adventure type of game, full of ninjas and cool stuff like that, so here it is...

Eye Color- Red
Hair Color- Silver
Skin Color- Pale but not white
Sex- Male... or female... female.. it'd be cooler!
Height- Hmm... I guess about 5'3" - 5'4"
Weight- Nothing too skinny like most games... about 120?
Build- Muscular legs, arms, but not too muscular nice abs
Personality- some one who is always serious and stays away from the group, tends to work alone.

I would say that what I would want would be the ability to create the character to my choice of features, but the main priority would be realism in movement, action and features. Making a character 'too' perfect makes it more difficult to identify with it. Also, something I've not seen on any games, is the ability to pick the subjective age of your character. My sons might put together a character identical to one I would put together, but want a younger version, where I would want a more mature version.

The characters I enjoy playing most are customizable... Like in Oblivion where you specify your own race, gender, hair color etc.

As far as personality, I love the sassy sarcasim of the hero in A Bard's Tale (XBox). The best games make me laugh.

I think it would be more interesting if there were characters based on real-life people. Maybe there could be Sim games based on places like Washington D.C. or Hollywood. Sim America would be cool, as would be Sim Movie.
