I like to visit Florida and go there often enough that I could almost call it home. I almost moved there a few years ago. But there is just something about it that prevents me from doing it. I think one of the big things would be losing winter, which is my favorite season. I also prefer smaller towns and less croded areas.

But I will continue to vacation there. I think moving there would take some of the excitement out of the area as well.

My husband and I love Florida. We're actually thinking about moving there in a few years. We want to live somewhere that is more inland, like the Orlando Area... we love the city of Celebration. The panhandle would be nice too-- doesn't get hit by hurricanes as often as the south bay city towns do. However, the only problem is that hurricane insurance has gone SKY HIGH... so it may be too expensive now. Vacationing there is always an option. Check out my Florida vacation blog!

I'm not sure if I'd live there. Everytime there is a category 3 hurricane you'd have to leave for a while, and then if where you live takes a direct hit, there's no telling what you'll come back to.

I live in south Louisiana, and as bad as the rest of the country may think we have it right now, Florida gets it constantly, we get it occasionally.

But, I do like going there on vacation.

I'm in Florida - been here since 72 when my father retired from the Pentagon. I would not have moved here myself but I was too young to make the decision. I like it ok but my heart is still in the DC area. Always will be I think. I don't like the heat but then again, my in-laws and kids/grandchild is here so I am not going anywhere. If it were up to me -- I'd just be on vacation but it's a REALLY REALLY LONG one with full time work in between LOL

I live there. Loving it. I have lived in many others states so I can compare. Lived in these states is this order: New York, Florida, Illinois, North Dakota, Kansas, Mississippi, Texas, Alaska, Virginia and now back to Florida. I have had a great time in each state and wouldn't have changed a thing but Florida is my first choice followed by Alaska

Just vacation and when I come back North from the heat and humidity, I never complain about the heath in the Northeast part of the country, it's nothing compared to swamp land. I fear the hurricane's. Vacation is enough. 10 days out of the year is plenty.

I would just vacation there. If I lived there, then I would have to look for another place to go on vacation. Plus, the hurricanes and the extreme heat are just too much for me. I like seasons and the first snow and falling leaves much to much.
