There are dog teeth on the gear that synchronizes the gear to your fly wheel. If they are worn, or missing, your transmission will not engage. Basically, it will not grab the fly wheel you bring the transmission up to speed. This causes the trans to "pop" off the flywheel and cause the stick to come out of gear. I had this on my 92 saturn. I had gear 3 and 5 go bad. Sounds like a rebuild to me, sorry to say :(

It means that your gears are stripped and the clutch is slipping and is very close to not working at all.

you do no longer would desire to downshift. this is extra low-fee to do brakes than a snatch. every time you downshift you utilizing the snatch back. i exploit the brakes till the site visitors demands downshifting. As for hills it purely takes time to get used to commencing off going up hill. i'd carry the automobile with the brake then placed it in kit purely beforehand the easy variations, permit off the brake supply it a sprint gas as you placed loose the snatch and once you experience the trans initiating to have interplay supply it gas in case you're letting the snatch out. Takes time and prepare. purely attempt to no longer burn the snatch out. As for downshifting mutually as using it actual relies upon on velocity of site visitors. I oftentimes use 2nd for corners. purely shop the trans in a kit that keeps the RPMs the place you like them. keep in mind greater engine velocity is extra gas.

i had a car that did that. someone told me it was something simple to fix (cant remember the name of the part that was bad) but the transmission had to come out. I always kept my hand on the shifter in second, or just avoided second all together.
