I'm planning a trip to Vancouver in July/Aug. And I'm wondering if I should visit Seattle too since I'll be close. Have you ever done this? Or will it be to much to try to fit in? I have about 9 days for the trip.

Awesome feedback, Thanks! What do you think is the best way to travel between the two cities, if i were to do so?

They are both large, beautiful cities.
But, too much to see for one trip.

Absolutely do both! i only had 5 days to work with when i did it, and i am very glad that i took the opportunity to see both vancouver and seattle. i did the same thing...rented a car and drove to both places. the drive was not very long, and it was definitely worthwhile to have a personal mode of transportation while there.

the fact that you have 9 days of vacation confirms the fact that you could manage both cities with no problem. i would plan out beforehand what 3 main attractions you definitely want to experience in both cities and book your itinerary accordingly. then, with the rest of your time you can choose to relax or explore randomly (those usually are the best experiences when travelling!).

wish you the best and hope the weather is great for you!

yrs ago we visited friends in Seattle when the Worlds Fair was in Vancouver, fully planning to do both--we did both..we rented a car and drove north to Vancouver and spent 2 days there-we only spent 2 days then, because hotels were so hard to get rooms in, because of the World's Fair.. lovely city-quite beautiful--don't miss a chance to visit Seattle-- it is really nice there--Pike's Market, the farmer's market, is a great place to see..also Mt. Rainier, is fabulous- we even drove out to the little city, where Northern Exposure, was filmed, and ate at the local cafe there..we saw the Dr's office and the Bar that was featured in the TV show--it was really fun--the Seattle area is very picturesque and should not be missed--if you have 9 days, i would split the time evenly between the two cities, as both are very interesting, and you can easily do both in that period of time..if i can be of further help, holler back at me !! good luck to you--hope you have a great visit !!!

Although it would be hard to see all that both of these cities have to offer in 9 days, you could spend 2 days in Seattle....visit the space needle and pike place, leaving the majority of your time to explore Vancouver, and possibly giving you ideas for your next trip (Seattle)
