Eye For An Eye, with Sally Fields and Kiefer Sutherland. It's the story of a woman who wants revenge on the man who brutally raped and murdered her young(12 or 13 years) daughter. The rape happens at their house while the mother is on the phone with her daughter and she can hear all the sounds, her daughter is screaming for help and crying "Mommy". And the mother is stuck in traffic and none of the other drivers will help her and call 911, even though she is crying and begging them to. She doesn't want to hang up on her daughter and no one else will help her. It is really disturbing because I saw it the first time right after my daughter was born and I was just blown away because I could understand what the mother was feeling trying to find a way to protect her child. Even writing this, I got chills...

A Beautiful Mind

I've watched it 5 times and it is really an incredible story about the Nobel Prize winner John Nash who struggles with schizophrenia all his life and learned how to live with it. So many distractions in the mind but he chose to pay attention to the worthy.

The mind being the most mystified member of the body is intriguing yet controllable by a determine choice to focus on what are meant to be focused. That is what makes it so beautiful.

One thing that I got out of the movie is that the one who knows how to direct his mind and set it to think the right thoughts will get what he wants eventually.

Return to Paradise. It is a relativly unknown drama starring Vince Vaughn, Joaquin Phoenix, David Conrad and Anne Heche.

The reason why it left a strong impression on me was it made me think "how far would I go to save a friend?" That is the whole basic principle behind the movie. Should Vince Vaughn and David Conrad turn themselves in for a crime they were a part of in order to keep a friend from being hung, or should they not risk ruining their own lives and let their friend die. I was left in awe as the characters go through all the dillemas of risking positives in their own lives and trying to decide their fate as well as their friends. Very well done, thought provoking, and eye opening. A must see! Not to mention the climax of the film just took my breathe away!

The movie that made the biggest impression on me was one called "If These Walls Could Talk". It was a TV movie that was shown in 1996. Cher was in it, as well as Demi Moore. It was about a house and about three women who lived there, but in different times. It showed the importance of our society providing safe and legal abortions for women. It's a very powerful and enlightening movie to watch.

Blair Witch Project. At the end of the movie, the people in the theater were really quiet and just walked out with shocked looks on their faces.

I had known going in the particulars about the movie but it seems a lot of the audience at this showing did not.

"The Life of David Gale"..Activists against the death penalty set out to prove that many innocent peope die on death row. A woman video tapes her own suicide..David Gale is put on death row for her murder. Kate Winslet plays an investigative reporter covering the story..She starts to find clues that David is innocent. She finally finds the video in the end..but unfortunately doesnt make it in time to stop the execution. Great movie, great storyline..and definitely makes you think about all of the innocent people who have died for a crime that did not commit.
