You have to go and live there to really appreciate the deeper meaning what is going on there. A majority of the people there are poor. I mean VERY poor. It truly is a 3rd world country.

There may be an ethical issue with the influx and development of tourism, but it truly is a double edged sword. There are good points and bad points.

The truth is that there are many other inherent problems with Jamaica, and they are all going to be difficult to overcome, tourism is just a drop in the bucket. ( I won't go into crime, poverty, corruption and the list goes on and on).

I believe that to solve the challenges there in Jamaica will take a generation of education. To bring the children of today, nurture, mold and grow them into the adults who care about their environment, have a strong work ethic, and can continue to build on the positive things others have already done there.
